Planning Your Bridal Looks – My Ultimate Guide for Brides to Be! 💍
As your Makeup Artist, my goal is simple: to help you feel confident, relaxed and truly yourself on one of the most special days of your life. 💗 Whether you're planning for a single event or multiple, e.g. Indian wedding, a civil ceremony, a reception, or pre wedding events, it's good to have an idea for your makeup looks so we can make the process smoother (and differentiate the looks)!
Here’s my guide to planning your bridal makeup looks:
1. Create a Mood Board
Before we start brushing on the glam, let’s get inspired! Put together images of makeup styles that you like e.g.
- Classic bridal elegance 👰🏽
- Modern monochromatic vibe
- Matte neutral eyes
- Shimmery lids and bold liner
- Dewy skin vs. soft matte finishes
You can take inspo from my Instagram, Pinterest, bridal magazines, or even celeb red carpet looks. Just keep everything in one place, like a saved Instagram folder or Pinterest board so we can refer to it when we chat at the trial or on the day!
🔑 Tip: Don’t feel pressured to chase every trend, go with what makes you feel beautiful and confident!
2. Optional – book a bridal trial
This step is highly recommended and available exclusively to brides.
If you're considering a trial, I suggest scheduling it around 6 months before the big day, or at the latest, 4 months in advance. Ideally, this is after you’ve finalised your wedding outfit, so you can bring your blouse or jewellery with you!
Why a trial is worth it:
- We’ll test the look under different lighting (natural light, indoor, flash) 📸
- You’ll get a feel for how the makeup wears throughout the day
- We can discuss any skin concerns, sensitivities, or product preferences
- You get to see how I work — and feeling comfortable with your artist is everything! ✨
What to bring to your bridal trial:
- Your jewellery or blouse
- If possible, wear something similar in colour or vibe to your wedding outfit e.g., a red top for your red bridal lengha, or something white for a civil ceremony.
This helps you visualise the final look even more clearly.

During your trial, we’ll take pictures under different types of lighting so you can:
- See how everything photographs
- Reflect on the look
- Make any tweaks ahead of time with no stress!
Final Thoughts 💐
Planning your makeup look should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Trust your instincts, stay true to your style and think of your makeup as an extension of you on the day. Whether you’re going soft and romantic, bold and glamorous, or somewhere beautifully in between, I’m here to bring that vision to life.
If you’ve already booked me, I can’t wait to chat through your ideas. And if not yet… what are you waiting for? 😉💌
